This impressive cruise ship made its maiden voyage from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and in 10 days, docked at Cozumel’s port, which made the island the first Mexican port during its journey through the Caribbean Sea. Its next stop is Mahahual, also in Quintana Roo.

Wonder of the Seas, the cruise of Royal Caribbean cruise line, was welcomed with an inauguration ceremony in which an exchange of plaques took place with the first arrival of the cruise line to the destination. During the ceremony, the Governor of Quintana Roo, Carlos Joaquín, emphasized the importance of Cozumel for the world’s cruise ships.

It is important to highlight that this cruise ship has a maximum capacity to accommodate 6,988 passengers, it measures approximately 362 meters (1,187 feet) and has 18 decks in total, 4 swimming pools and 20 restaurants, which makes it an authentic floating hotel.
