Sunset Green World is the brand under which Sunset World showcases its environmental preservation, restoration and development actions.
Our approach is to use resourcessparingly, protect valuable ecosystems and adhere to rigoroussustainable practices.Our sustainable practices are the consequence of our desire to preserve ourprecious natural resources and home. Our main objective is to be leaders in sustainable tourismdevelopment in harmony with the environment, local society, culture and economy.
We at Sunset World care about the environment and we recommend that members, guests and ourcoworkerstake concrete actions to take care of valuable resources such as water and energy.
The tourism industry faces the challenge of moving toward operational models that are increasingly environmentally responsible. Against this backdrop, Sunset World is strengthening its commitment to sustainability by adopting practices focused on the circular economy and more efficient resource management.
As part of this vision, Sunset World collaborates with ECOCE, a non-profit association dedicated to promoting proper waste management and fostering a recycling culture in Mexico, in alignment with the new Circular Economy Law. This partnership helps integrate processes that maximize the utility of materials and supplies used in hotel operations.
The Circular Economy Law proposes transforming how resources are used, aiming to reduce waste generation, optimize processes, and promote the recovery and reintroduction of materials into production cycles. For the tourism sector, this approach offers an opportunity to lower the environmental impact of daily activities while continuing to provide high-quality experiences for visitors.
In its operations, Sunset World drives initiatives related to waste separation, handling, and valorization, while also raising awareness about the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. These practices are part of a strategy designed to increase process efficiency and encourage responsible resource use.
The collaboration with ECOCE also helps foster a culture of sustainability among employees, members, and guests by encouraging active participation in proper waste management and responsible resource utilization.
In this way, Sunset World integrates circular economy principles into its operations, viewing sustainability not as an isolated action, but as an ongoing process that engages the entire community and contributes to conserving the environment where its tourism activities take place.
In August 2014 Sunset World launched an Energy Efficiency Program to reduce its carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency by upgrading air conditioning systems, water heaters and LED lighting in our six hotels.
These sustainable actions consisted of 3 stages:
Identification. The operational and technology points where energy waste was detected.
Implementation. Technologies were replaced and processes that caused unnecessary energy consumption and emission of pollutants were changed.
Annual measurement of results.
Reducing the consumption of electrical energy and fuels and the release of C02 emissions intotheatmosphere has measurable benefits for the environment, the community where we operateand our members and guests.

These results make Sunset World a leader in a tourism sector that is turning towards asustainable model to protect the environment.
Sunset World continuously looks for ways to take care of the environment and reduce its carbonfootprint, so it made an agreement with a Mexican company that produces energy with windfarms and thermoelectric plants. Since 2022 100% of the energy that the hotels consume comesfrom a clean, renewable source.
Sunset World avoids emitting 6,984 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere annually. As a reference, 1ton of C02 released into the atmosphere is equivalent to the jet fuel consumed by a plane on around trip flight between Madrid and New York.
