Cancún has become the epicenter of the national performing arts scene with the 45th National Theater Showcase, inaugurated in the Cancún City Theater. This venue, which opened its doors just last year, is now welcoming the artistic community from across the country.
From November 6 to 15, the public can enjoy activities including plays, workshops, panel discussions, and special presentations, all under the theme of “Migration, Cultural Mixing, and Multiculturalism.” More than 500 artists from 16 states are participating in this event, which has become a symbol of cultural justice and a valuable opportunity to bring theater and the performing arts closer to the community.
Organized by the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL), in coordination with the Government of the State of Quintana Roo, the Benito Juárez City Council, and the Cancún Institute of Culture and Arts, this exhibition reaffirms the institutions’ commitment to decentralizing culture, strengthening the artistic presence in southeastern Mexico, and celebrating the creative diversity that distinguishes the country.
