Thanks to the joint efforts of 20 hotels in both destinations, between 20 and 30 kilometers of coastal dunes have been restored by 2025. By 2026, the participation of at least 25 hotels is expected, with the goal of further expanding the area of restored sandbanks.
This initiative has motivated the hotel industry to become actively involved and to understand the ecological and tourism importance of these natural barriers, especially given the increasing frequency of hydrometeorological events.
Progress in dune restoration will continue in the coming years, driven not only by on-site actions but also by the professional training of the personnel involved. To date, approximately 50 employees have been trained in dune planting, maintenance, and management techniques, thus strengthening the project’s sustainability
