World Energy Conservation Day is observed every October 21st, a date that encourages reflection on the importance of using energy responsibly and efficiently. Reducing energy consumption not only helps preserve natural resources but also lowers the CO2 emissions associated with energy generation and use.
This day holds special significance for Sunset World, as energy conservation and efficiency are integral to its forward-looking vision of sustainable tourism, which seeks to protect the natural environment where it operates. Through the Sunset Green World initiative, the company promotes actions aimed at the responsible use of resources and the conservation of ecosystems.
In August 2014, Sunset World launched an Energy Efficiency Program focused on reducing carbon emissions and optimizing energy consumption across its hotels. Key measures included upgrading air conditioning systems, installing solar panels and LED lighting, and identifying and replacing technologies and processes that caused unnecessary energy waste.
This commitment is further supported by the use of clean, renewable energy. According to Sunset World’s corporate data, since 2022, 100% of the energy consumed by its hotels has come from clean, renewable sources, thereby helping to reduce its carbon footprint.
World Energy Conservation Day serves as a reminder that sustainability is built through everyday decisions. For Sunset World, every action aimed at improving energy use represents another step in its commitment to a responsible tourism model that exists in harmony with the environment.
