The Mexican Caribbean Gastronomic Festival is Back!

If you are planning to take a vacation in Playa del Carmen during February, you
can´t miss the second edition of the Mexican Caribbean Gastronomic Festival.

The Governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, accompanied by municipal presidents and the president of the Restaurants and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac in Spanish), announced that Playa del Carmen will host the second edition of the Mexican Caribbean Gastronomic Festival.

The festival will take place on February 25 and 26 as part of the celebration for the 30th anniversary of the creation of the municipality of Solidaridad, whose capital is the picturesque city of Playa del Carmen.

This important event is organized by the Committee for the Promotion of Quintana Roo´s Gastronomy, and this year the 12 destinations in the Mexican Caribbean will participate. This will be the perfect setting for tourists and local visitors to savor and explore the best of Quintana Roo´s gastronomy and culture.

During the two-day festival there will be a wide variety of activities held at different venues, such as the Mexican Caribbean Kermesse, which will offer authentic specialties from Quintana Roo; Tianguis del Mayab, where visitors will be able to purchase a variety of products from Mayan communities, organic food, edible and ornamental plants; the pavilion “Made in Quintana Roo”, which will showcase food and beverages prepared with local ingredients and handcrafted products made in the state; Guest Ingredient Island, where local produce is promoted, this year quail will be presented to promote its consumption; The Mexican Caribbean pavilion, where you will learn about different tourist attractions in the destination; and the Cultural Billboard, that will feature artistic performances and samples of the Mexican Caribbean´s gastronomy.
