Cancún, Quintana Roo – Sunset World Group announces and is preparing for its first chefs’ contest. This debut edition is called “Salsas and Mexican Secrets”, and will be held on September 26 at Hacienda Tres Ríos and on October 3 at Sunset Marina, located in the Riviera Maya and Cancun respectively. The executive chefs from the six hotels in the chain are practicing and perfecting their recipes with various ingredients, techniques and influences.
“Salsas and Mexican Secrets will feature examples of the gastronomic excellence that Sunset World Group offers Members and guests,” said Annie Arroyo, Sunset World Group Branding and Communications Director. “Our restaurants offer a wide variety of original and creative dishes that combine tradition, creativity and, above all, fresh products,” she added.
As the name implies, the contest’s theme is world-renowned Mexican salsas. However, each chef will use their experience and knowledge to achieve an innovative and distinctive dish featuring an unexpected ingredient, an unusual combination, or a surprise in order to win.
The contest consists of each chef preparing, presenting and explaining their dish for a panel made up of Sunset World Group Members and guests who will evaluate flavor, preparation and presentation, among other criteria, to choose a winner, who will be rewarded with a set of professional Victorinox cutlery.
