Grupo Sunset World’s Club Sunset Golf Invitational Tournament was a Great Success
This VIP Event Highlights the Fact that Cancun is a Great Destination for Those who Love to Golf.
Cancún, Q. Roo – On March 5th and 7th, the Club Sunset Golf Invitational tournament, an exclusive event for Grupo Sunset World Members who are golf fans, was held in two sessions. The venues were El Tinto and Puerto Cancún golf courses in Cancún, Quintana Roo.
The participants gathered early in the morning on the courses to practice, and the tournament began at 9:00 a.m. on both days. With enthusiastic participation, the Grupo Sunset World Members played 36 holes, 18 in each session, and enjoyed their game with perfect weather, plenty of emotion and good humor.
"This tournament highlights Cancun as a golf destination that offers many world-class golf courses," said Annie Arroyo, Grupo Sunset World’s Brand and Communication Director. "In fact, our members were so pleased with the quality of the event that we are anticipating a second tournament in October," she concluded.
The first three places were decided by combining the scores from both sessions. The special "O'yes" prize was awarded at the 8th hole of the Puerto Cancún Golf Course. The prize for first place was a yacht trip for up to 10 people, the second-place prize was a romantic dinner for 2 people, and third place received a trip to Isla Mujeres for two people. The special "O'yes" prize was a golf bag. The Club Sunset Golf Invitational tournament was sponsored by Cerveceria Cancun, Cancun Cards, Sunset Admiral Yacht Club & Marina and Vacacionante.

El Tinto Golf Course
This course is located just minutes away from Cancún’s International Airport, and was designed by renowned pro golfer Nick Price. It covers 7,435 yards and is surrounded by beautiful local flora, with over 84 bunkers and five lakes; it offers challenges for all type of players.

Puerto Cancún Golf Course
This course is nestled in a private, exclusive area in Cancún. Designed by Tom Weiskopf, British Open champion, this 7,241-yard course combines nature and modernism, and it is surrounded by a 183-acre ecological reserve. It has holes near the canals and two holes with views of the stunning Caribbean Sea.
